THE INCA RUINS:
The Zambranos took us to some Inca ruins. They were not at all what we expected! It was pretty fascinating to think of what they USED to look like, but all of the pyramids were covered in grass and vegetation so they just looked like little mounds of grass! It was interesting to hear about their ways of telling time, and seeing the museum of their tools, clothes, and way of living. Sadly, or some may say happily, the most exciting part was the llamas and alpacas that we saw along the way! There were 150 spread across the ruins. We were determined to touch one, and after trying multiple times to coax them into coming to us, we gave up and started chasing them. Finally we were able to accomplish our dream.

Josue trying to show me what the llama that he found on pinterest looked like. He said it was completely shaved except it had a poofy head. He talked about the llama all the time and couldn't get over how funny it was!
An ugly face contest with Mati
Kassara with her sisterhood of the traveling ugly sweater picture!
Absorbing some sun on the freezing, windy day!
The llamas were the highlight!
This tree is called the tree of life because it never dies! You can chop it down and it will grow right back!
Some of the ruins
This was in the museum at the end of the tour. A real preserved skeleton from zillions of years ago!
They used to bury people in these pots!
